At the Wednesday, December 17, 2014, Atlantic Highlands Mayor and Council Meeting, the Atlantic Highlands Police Benevolent Association, Local 242 presented the Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce with a check in the amount of $11,500.

Police-Benevolent-Assoc-400The check represented the proceeds from the Charity Auction held at their Twenty Seventh Annual Ball on May 23, 2014 held at the Shore Casino in the Municipal Harbor. At the time, Chairman of the Ball Committee, Chief Jerry Vasto, commented that, “The Chamber has really stepped up its activity to bring new energy and vitality to the downtown area of the town. A vibrant and energetic town means a safer town which benefits everyone in the community.”  He further went on to say that the businesses in Atlantic Highlands have always been very generous to the Police and this effort is a way to thank them. He also complimented the President, Chuck Lero, on his leadership of the group. Chuck Lero, President of the Chamber thanked the Chief and his Committee for their confidence in the organization and pledged to use the funds wisely.

YellowFlagThe Borough of Atlantic Highlands in conjunction with the Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the installation of the “Waves of Color”, which is a procession of 102 yellow flags.

The flags are located on each of the 102 Victorian lamp posts on First Avenue starting at the Historical Society’s “Welcome to Atlantic Highlands” sign off of Route 36 and culminating at the Municipal Harbor.
